When I put this together I had planned on running it at stock 32 height. Stock springs, stock axles.... etc... Now that I dropped the body on the frame, and pushed the car out of the garage, I'm torn Opinions??
Drop it until it hits the ground, then raise it just a pubic hair and it art 2 look just right. Big Tony
I have found, that to my eye, the answer to the question "Should I lower this?" is ALWAYS an emphatic YES!! This case is no different... Longroof
Honestly.Taller tires on back. Reverse the eyes on the springs.(maybe just the front) Done. (You know,to have it "slammed"changes everything)
Nope. Everybody lowers the fuck out of them. Leave it. It looks so bitchin like that! Go a little bigger with the tires in the back, and a little smaller in the front. done.
all things considered, and the relationship of the wheel wells to the rear tires, the frontal stance of the frame horns and grill shell, the hood covering the not quite lowered v8, I would think the coolest thing to do is leave it the way it is with a simple tire rake. Leave the ground scrapers to the "young" traditionalists. Why be a Lemming, when you can soar like an Eagle. Hotrodding is all about bucking the norm. Is this case, you're not really bucking, it's more like a gentle shove. Picture it with wide whites, painted black with a red leather interior. Be a "stand out", not a "stand in".
All cars need to be lowered...it is the way they should been built but the auto mfgs couldn't sell 'em that way. Give it the dago...drop the front and a little less drop in rear. Nice rake.
Looking at them side by side, I think leave it up. Scare the hell out of those soccer moms in their big SUVs!
I say leave it the way it is, turn the headlights around backwards and hit the salt flats! sweet looking ride. make a great 40's rod or a 50's drag car
To be a "traditional" rod, you can't paint it, you can't upholster it, You can't have any shiny stuff, that only leaves lowering to make it traditional. Unfortunately I am to old to be a "traditional" hotrodder, so I say leave it like it is, paint it and upholster it to your own tastes.
Great looking car . Don't lower it . I love em lowered but that's what everybody does. It has a wonderful traditional look with that stance. Some nice nogahyde upholstry, and a coat of white primer . Perfect! Just my opinion -.02 Spanky
