My buddy is moving to Sanford, FL and I thought I would see whats out there for him.He doesnt know anybody and is taking a new job as an airline mechanic. He's got a 54 chevy 2 door done up slight custom style but with a 383 stroker. He's a good guy, I hope he ends up in good hands! Rick
Friends don't let friends move to Fl. But if you can't stop him it's a great area for cruises and swap meets. T.R.R. is just up the road.
it was cool when i lived there... besides the 4 hurricaines humid summers and old people. other then that it was paradise.... he might have more fun on the east coast of fl. down in melbourne you got billy lane's shop Choppers Inc. and daytona always has some good parties. to me it seemed like the west had a lot of tokyo street racers not so many jalopys oh and toll roads are a *****
Theres a bunch of Hambers up in that neck of the woods , Orlando isnt to far. If ya havent done it yet send him to Southern Grease Pit .com
Florida is alright. The Southern Grease Pit is a message board close to this in it's own way,But it's been Hacked at the moment.Sanford is right up the road from me about 8-10 miles.
Im just north of Sanford in New Smyrna Beach. There's plenty of hot rod stuff going on around the area. There is a really good cruise in on second saturday of the month on C**** street in New Smyrna beach.GREGG
Welcome to the sunshine state. Turkey Run in November, I highly recommend it. Great people, awesome rods, fabulous swap meet.
Thanks for all the responses. He's a good guy, I'd hate to see him lose interest in the car life just cause he's movin away, but it sounds like he's gonna have it better than me now! Rick Wanted: New best friend in St.Louis
Sanford huh... That's Larry the Cable Guy's hometown. I love Larry but hated central Florida. I escaped last year. When the forecast says 50% chance of rain... that means it will rain only 50% of the day. It ****s for car events. I got rained out of half the drag races I went to.
Hi,welcome to um,from miami fl,been here 1942 to now,it sure not as nice as it was,but still OK,lots of rods, not so many race cars in south fl,all the track are gone ,I don't count Miami Homestead, that's a **** hole for mega buck only. But left "Come And Live In Florida" =Calif. The Bat
It doesn't take much to get out of the Gainesville area and over to Cedar Key, makes for a nice drive. South of there is Spring Hill, home of some enthusiastic car guys, mostly muscle cars. and Rusty210 and HotRodA.
