Despite what my avatar looks like my car was a factory single color paint job. At some point in it's life, someone painted the white on half of it. I am finally ready to paint this next week (two tone white/blue) and I realized I don't know and have been unable to see in anyone's pictures where the paint split is on the roof. Do the gutters get painted roof color? This is the way I would ***ume and that the paint split would be at the body seam below the gutter, but I could see it being in the gutter channel as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Todd, I looked at your profile page and could not find any of your photos in an album. Looks like you have not made one yet. The dilemma is this - tutone cars in 55 were Fairlane only and in 56 I believe Fairlane and the Customlines. Your car looks to be a Fairlane Club Sedan - 1956 (If we go from the trim in your avatar) - this means that the gutter rail should be covered in a bare stainless steel strip of trim. (I can't tell if you have that or not from your avatar) If you don't have that strip and you don't plan on going back to original, then I would paint the gutter rail in the color you thought best.

Gutters would be roof color on a Customline.
