HAMB FAMOUS??who's had a mag spread??

with the latest and well, the last few r/c mags havin HAMB hot rods in them, well, it got me ta thinkin [ no small task for sure] who here has had some print in the mags, movies, or otherwise, that some of use may have seen it???my 53 was in a tampon ad once but i wont bore ya with the details..besides there were to many strings attached im a idiot so how's bout a story or the shots on your kar fellas and fellaettes///////////breeder

I HAD FEATURES IN LOWRIDER, mini truckin, super chevy with my old rides lowrider was a cover way back in 97'

 

Back in the early 90's, my brother and I built a set of Audi Quatro cars up for some rich guy to race... One of them, an Audi 90, showed up in a German racing magazine because our motor had 15 more hp than the factory Audi cars at Pikes Peak one year.(and it also had full interior, stereo, etc.).. It was just a sidebar in the back of the magazine with several small pictures.... I have it somewhere, but my German is bad.... Our car beat the fastest factory car by almost 3 seconds...

My shoebox was in Burnout,a Japanese magazine,when it still belonged to Todd Zimmerman(fordole500).Plus it has shown up in many other mags,Dice,Gasoline,Rod and Custom,Custom Rodder,Rolls and Pleats. A guy took some pic's for Old School Rods,but I haven't seen them yet.It's not a big deal,but my son really digs on it.

 

The Bomb Factory Digger was featured in Hot Rod (June? 2005), and was also named a top ten for 2005. There was also a small mention of it in R&C.

 

My truck had two feature's in car kulture deluxe (one was by mistake LOL), and had pics in close to a dozen other mags including a couple oversea's.
My old coupe has had pics in Street Rodder and GG gazette.

Both were featured in the hard cover book 'Great American Hot Rods'

 

in about 1994 i had my driver in chevy truckin mag. my 41 chevy had a shot in southern rodder. and my 60 beater pick up was in classic trucks a few years ago. these were not show cars just drivers.

Back when Geoff Carter was editor of the Trendsetter I use to get a lot
of ink....featured some of my cars, and printed a bunch of articles that I
wrote and photos that I took at various events. Since he moved on
I dont get quite as much ink....sure wish he was still there, at least
the mag. got out on time...well most of the time....'cause Johnny Angel

My Deuce 3w was featured in the #5 Issue of Traditional Rod & Kulture....got 3 pages.......they did a nice job....especially Spike (hotrodphotos)

The wagon has made a few 'show shot' appearances. My last ride had multi-page features in Truckin, Chevy Truckin and Sport Truck. A ton of 'show shot' appearances in the above plus a few others..

My Camaro got a half car shot in HotRod when I was 16.. That was big stuff....

 

If it ever comes out. I'm pretty sick of waiting.

My Green Five Window Deuce has had several "car show shots" appear for coverage of Paint & Primer, Viva Las Vegas, LA Roadster Show ect.

Full spread in the January '05 issue of Rod & Custom, great story by Jim Aust, pics by Dain Gingerelli.

Had a huge Nine page spread in issue #31 of Rodders Journal, very ellaborate story by Joe Kress, pics by Steve Coonan.

I built a 40 Merc coupe for someone else back in 86. Got a page spread in Rodders Digest and got my name in it. A childhood dream come true.

 

I was the centerfold pet for Drunk Slob Illustrated, November '83.

I was in R&C last month with a Buffalo (along with the car I built on the cover), but the best was last year with me riding one of my Stingray bicycles- ALMOST made the subscriber version cover!

 

I've had single pictures in several magazines
and a four pager on my old coupe in Hotrod Mechanics many moons ago

 

My shoebox has been in R&C and Gary Minor's Diehards.
The '36 was in Hop Up #6.
My '34 truck was in R&C last month.
My Soap Box Derby car was in Hop Up in 1952 -- a proud moment!

 

Feature in R&C, twice in the 4 pak in Street Rodder, show coverage shots in the latter plus Goodguys Gazzette and Street Scene. Was also on Street Rodder television show on ESPNII. These are all with the 41 cpe

 

My roadster was a feature in two different magazines, Street Rodding Illustrated in '84, and American Rodder in '97, plus a few small pictures in Street Scene and Rod and Custom event coverage from time to time.......

Damn, I've got to get it running again......
