Love the pics of the fliver races. Maybe someday there will be enough early style model t ho ups to have our own. They damn sure aren’t doing anything with green mountain race track and we could get more than several laps in before the sheriff boots us out!

I'm jealous of your awesome DB deck! If I can find a DB turtleback up here in Washington for my 23 tub it'll be going on my 32 frame with a Plymouth wavy axle and a desoto 276. Otherwise, it'll be a banger powered modified with a T gas tank in back on an A IMG_20180204_134142_191.jpg frame

Seems like Clint Eastwood has a thing for Ford's.:)
In his latest movie 'The Mule' he drives an F100 (and a Lincoln), in 'Gran Torino' his character used to work at the Ford factory and he drives an F100 and obviously a Gran Torino and in 'Dirty Harry' a Galaxie.

  6. Clint's Model T-based flathead-powered lakes modified was bought for him by his father for $25 Not much more is known about the modified than what we see in the photo, but we know that Eastwood took shop classes at Oakland Technical High School and often rebuilt engines (and all he had on his mind then were “fast cars and easy women”), so we have to wonder whether he ever raced it. (from the article). HRP

I think there is a better photo of this car taken from the other side. Bob

Indeed, but it's not really a gow in the sense of this thread. More like hot iron with that V-8 and steel wheels.

Much agreed. But WOW, I had no idea. I wonder if anyone has tried to pry this early info from him...before he forgets or worse passes.

Oh please just build it as is. I WISH I had a DB body to use even if it was on my T frame (I am a Mopar nut in my past life.) The DB's and Ford go so hand in hand in the early years. I really dig you want the 276 though....so many decisions....

Dodge Bros. ran the forging shop, and produced the axles for Henry.
(Also, Dodge Bros. forged their own axles from the famous Chrome Vanadium that Henry kept so secret...)
So, other than the shapes, Dodge Bros. axles are the same DNA! Many Dodge forgings are similar, for instance: the later Dodge pickup shock mounts. Very similar to Ford '46-'52 pickups...
    Hmmm...FoMoCo...Chevrolet Bros. also worked there...

I'm definitely grateful to have what I have, and modifieds are tits, BUT...a 23 DB roadster on 32 rails with a hemi...everything chromed, with a Kurtis nose THAT could be a whole different trip

What? They didn't work for Ford. Louis built the Fronty head for the T but it had nothing to do with Ford, Chevrolet and his 2 brothers had their own manufacturing business for that.

bct would you mind giving some more details on the car, or do you have a build thread?

BCT: I know studebakerjoe wants the details of your build, and myself and many others would love to see your badass 3 springer in a build thread. The stance is SPOT on! I dig bowtie bangers!

  23. Can you post a link to @bct’s thread? I can’t view his profile to then check his posts.

49E2B656-899E-43CE-BB3E-BE27702513A8.jpeg Really can’t find any new pics of gow jobs but just looking at old pics of race cars sometimes turns something up. The race car is so cool that I didn’t see them at first! My roadster will have some updates soon. But guitar guy and bigcheese and myself are going to
Langs together in Tuesday and I will post some of the fun!

Got a good pile of stuff I needed like a better torque tube and some 26-27 large drum axle housings with nice radius rods. Also very nice 26-27 drums and wood wheel hubs. I could spend all day there and advice for anyone into model ts and makes the trip- make a list of what you need because the used part section is overwhelming and you’ll forget something you need! Here are two pics of cars that not one person will ever grow tired of seeing!
