I had a ? about some heads. I was wondering if these GM heads are any good? The #'s are 3795896 and c202. A guy gave me these for helping him clean out his garage. Can anybody help?

Yep. All small block heads will interchange up to the Vortecs, which will fit but have different bolts, manifolds etc.

Nice part is they will be the same small chamber so compression will stay the same, not like an 80’s head will large 76cc chambers that would drop it considerably.

My go-to site comes up with 60 CC chambers, and used on some 62-64 327 engines, and 63-65 283 engines., 1.72 inch intake valves, 1.50 inch exhaust valves. Find some steel shim head gaskets, and have the heads surfaced; that will help boost the CR some. My 71' edition "Chilton's" says the CR could be between 9.25 and 10.50:1, 283 and 327 respectively; I don't know how THAT is possible however., when prior years were 8 to 9.50:1 (???) 283/327.
