Not that you can trust Yahoo, but it appears to be mechanical failure that led to the crash. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment...-that-killed-racer-jessi-combs-213726944.html
I saw that report on Autoweek. The info was attributed to the local sheriff's investigators. Apparently, a wheel collapsed after striking some object on the sand.
You realize we've known this for a couple days, and already discussed it? Ryan closed the long thread on Jessi already. Let it go, man.
Well some how some way I missed, "known this for a couple days, and already discussed it?", and I for one thank you 5 window. Not every one around these parts is a grumpy old man, and while I most certainly morn her loss and the loss of the car, as do many, it was nice of you to post this. The North American Eagle was from my part of the woods and I was thrilled to get a tour of it once. Edit. Part # two. I just watched the TMZ video of the run. Best one of all ever filmed of any jet car record attempt. Damn man I doubt that many here have the balls to strap that monster on and go and do what she did. I sure as hell don't. Again Jessi, you were the best, you'll be more than missed. Edit again. If you (HAMBers) have not witnessed the bravery of doing this run and wish to do so, here is the link. I have (2) girls today (loosing one in '17) and just kind of push women exploits in today's world, so excuse my fathers over the top push for our women of today if you will. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9860291/jessi-combs-crash-final-moments-video/
Autoweek reported it on November 6, the same day I posted. Ryan closed the long thread because it was speculation. This was a factual report. I'm still sad. I'm sorry you were offended. I, and many others, followed the NAE project with interest and I thought reporting on the actual cause was worthwhile. Your options are to ignore this thread, or report it. Either way, best wishes.
