Had to paint the hood, fenders and spot the cowl area on my new red 32 Sedan and in doing so we had to get into the pinstriping around the body line. I'm certain that a good stripe guy can match the paint and fix it. But, I know that several people that used to stripe in the Central TX area have moved on. Anyone know if there's anyone local that can knock it out? Thanks in advance. -Ron
X2 on Ken Smith. He travels all the time, I'll guarantee that he'll be in Austin. Does great work too. BTW, he's a HAMB member - Fly'n Kolors.
Cant think of his last name, first name is Tanner, bomb squad longboards, hes in the area. Pinstripers garage on facebook, put a post and im sure someone will chime in.
If any stripe guys see this thread and want the gig I can be reached at 512-657-6933. I'll have the sheet metal back on by Monday and my shop is air conditioned so weather is not an issue. I'll pay fair money but I want a pro, no amateurs please. I'm in Central Austin 5 mins from downtown. Thanks again. -Ron
Pinstriping has always been interesting to me for a number of reasons. First you have a group of guys who appear in many different magazines and having really made a name for themselves by doing really excellent work and magazines like "Auto Art" always has stores on many of these great pinstriper's. Then you have what I like to call the working group of pinstriper's who travel to all kinds of events some regional and sometimes national events like the NSRA shows or other big shows to apply their trade. Many of these equally great pinstriper's almost never appear in magazines. Over the years a number of things have changed for working pinstriper's such as the costs to be a vendor at the big shows which has gotten really crazy over the years to the point where some pinstriper's decided not to apply their skills inside of the big show grounds but instead to set and work on cars just outside the show in places like motel parking lot's rather then pay between $1,200 and over $2,000 dollar to be located on the inside of the show grounds. Many of the Best Pinstriper's have never appeared in any magazines and are more interested in making a living doing what they do best. I am Not knocking the guys who want to be in the magazines it's just two different ways of being a pinstriper and some want the recondition and others could care less and just look what they are doing. Just my opinion. Jimbo
The hotrod scene in Austin is only once a year like just like Christmas... Blue Rooster is a good bet and he will travel to you too... The hotrod culture in Austin has been replaced by prius driving, craft beer drinking, plastic bag banning, plastic straw banning, offended every day, wanabe greaser, living with mommy and daddys money, tree hugging, vegan, snowflakes.
check with local truck body shops, they usually have source of excellent stripers to d all that truck work. One of the best in the Omaha area works at a truck shop and rocks the brush very well.
^^^ I’ve been once or twice. I probably need to swing by now that the weather has cooled down. Is there any one there that can do it? Is the Blue Rooster dude in the hill country area?
