This exhibition is truly a definitive collection of iconic race cars. From the Phoenix Art Museum's website:

Legends of Speed is the first major exhibition of racing cars presented at Phoenix Art Museum. Open now through March 15, the landmark exhibition features more than 20 legendary cars by Maserati, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Ford, and more, an unprecedented collection of cars driven by some of the greatest drivers in the history of racing, including A.J. Foyt, Dan Gurney, and Stirling Moss.

Featured cars have won many of the world’s most iconic races, including Le Mans, the Indianapolis 500, and the Italian Grand Prix, and were loaned to the Museum by internationally recognized collectors from across the United States.

I decided to composite the exhibit information sign with the photo of each featured car, as the stories and insights offered are well worth reading if you choose. For instance, I was not previously aware of the Bugatti "connection" with Miller.

great that these are on display there - the Petersen Museum (LA, CA), and others, loan out cars to be part of other displays world wide

A few of the photos are somewhat lacking in sharpness, such as the Bentley shown here. The Museum did not allow for tripods or flash, so I had to shoot with a very wide aperture (which can be a good thing). High light sensitivity settings required me to employ noise reduction adjustment and sharpening.

The Mark Donahue Porsche 917/30 CanAm car from 1973 was also in the exhibit and it was as impressive as any car there, but I decided that was way too modern in appearance to include it here.

The John Player Special was displayed in the Lobby, but I neglected to shoot the description sign.
