Technical GMC 2192562 PART NUMBER HELP PLEASE

    It appears to be an over-speed trip mechanism. These are used on steam turbines and steam engines to prevent a runaway condition if the governor fails. There is a spring loaded piston in that center piece. At some preset speed the centrifugal force will allow the piston to overcome the spring pressure. The piston moves and does "something". Perhaps those ports connect to some hydraulic control signal.
     
  2. Maybe it is a flux capacitor? I have never seen anything like it.

    The man I got this from has been letting me fill up 4 or 5 boxes a week for a couple months now. I'm gonna buy as long as he will sell. His father p***ed about 10 years ago and the buildings been locked up since. M*** collection of 30's thru 70's parts. Mainly Ford and GM. Some Mopar. I've ac***ulated some very rare items so far.
