Is anyone here a dealer for Ch***is Engineering, Pete & Jakes, & Coker Tire?

I've been looking at dropping the '38. Was thinking about a 4" axle, reversed eye springs front & rear, gas shocks all around, sway bars on each end, dropped steering arms, & new 6.00 & 8.20 x 16" white wall 'Stones.

This should set me on a decent rake & really help the handling/ride of the car.

Anyone care to Photoshop drop it?

    TIA, JH

I would be careful of getting the right width axle underneath the front, some ch***is engineering axles are very narrow and you will notice that your wheels will look very tucked in.....unless you like that look I'm pretty sure they make a 48" from king pin to king pin which should do you alright but they aslo have a 46" which looks completely different. So-Cal has Pete and jake parts of course as well as ch***is engineering, I'm not to sure if Coker use's distributors so if you call them directly you can ask for blems which save you a couple bucks and sometimes you can't even find the blem.

We are also a dealer for all that, and we are working on dropping a '40 sedan with alot of those same parts. It looks so cool I can't stand it!

I didn't realize you were so close to Florida.

That car will need 5.50 and 7.50 16ers, maximum. Put too big a tire on the front and you will rub fenders on turns.

Here's pics of the '40. It has 15s though.

Thanks guys. I'll be in touch for sure.

Django, what did you do to the '40? It is perfect. Exactly what I'm after.

I struggled with wheel color for two months. Still don't quite know how this color suits me but I think it is OK. We'll see if it grows on me.

Posies superslides lowered springs on both ends
    4" drop superbell
wishbone spliting kit with dropped steering arms on '32 spindles
    powerstop disc brake kit
    G78-15s and 5.50 15s in front

We found that the 8.20s are too big on this car. My '36 has G78s too.

My '36 has G78s too. Too keep it a fair comparison though, my car doesn't have an axle in front.

    That looks great! Thanks Blake.

I'm not against 5.50 & 7.50 'Stones. I'm real particular about my front & rear tires matching though. Big & littles are a must but the manufacturer, tread patterns, & sidewall markings have to be the same.

    It matters to me.

Thanks Squiggy. I stole it from one of the Road Rocket threads. I think thirdyfivepickup took it but I don't remember for sure.

I'm with you Harrison on the tire thing. Mine are both Coker Cl***ics.

Let me know if you want us to order anything.

BTW, that '40 is getting a crazy 4 carb (2 and 2) intake on the flatty... and it is one of 8 I believe.

You have to be careful which axle you get unless you split the bones. I did a 39 a couple of years ago and I think i used a magnum axle from speedway that was 47 inches wide but fit the stock wishbone without splitting them. I had 15x5 steelies with 165 radial tires on it, f-100 brakes, they rubbed a little in a tight turn.
