Hey Everyone I’m in the process of completely rebuilding a 10 bolt. I’ve got all the bearings pressed on the posi and the inside pinion bearing and shims on. The problem I’m having is I can’t get the outer pinion bearing to go on. The rear is out of the car. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to getting the outer bearing seated?

Do you have the crush sleeve installed?
I generally have to tap the bearing on with the yoke until I can get the nut started.

No the crush sleeve isn’t installed yet. Trying to get it together to set up the ring and pinion pattern.

Being you have the housing out, get a block of wood the can support the pinion just proud of the cover surface. then stand the pinion on the block, may be good to have a helper. With the pinion supported you can set the yoke on and tap it down.

or put the yoke on the floor, with the bearing, housing, and pinion over it, and tap the pinion into the bearing. Balancing the housing is tricky :)
