Does anyone have any leads on where to get the front and rear rubber for the windshield and rear window for a 1951 Henry J? I got the 51 home from California and the rubber that was used is some type of universal rubber and it leaks like a sieve. I would appreciate any information that would lead to the correct type of rubber.
In a situation like that the first place I'd check would be a large local autogl*** supplier/installer. Those guys are experienced on what will or won't work and usually have various gaskets on rolls to pick from...and the proper sealing compounds to make it completely water tight. Not usually a big problem to fit something tightly when you have a good selection of rubber mounting gaskets to chose from anyway. There are quite a few to chose from even in the universal section! Have them remove/install/guarantee. Simple!
There's a guy I think in Cali that sells all the rubbers I just bought quarter window rubbers from him. I will try and find his # or try google Jon
