Nice find, Paul. The race was covered pretty extensively in the October '53 issue of Hot Rod Magazine, written by Wally Parks, the then Editor. Here's some pictures...

Here's some more. Older hot rodders will recognize a lot of the names with the photos, as they became icons in drag racing.

PM me your E-mail address...and welcome to the HAMB..

Chances are your poster is a RE-PRINT . I have seen this same poster at many auto swap meets. They also sell a re-pop of this poster on metal. IF your is a REAL PMSD poster , YOU SCORED & I'm jealous
The car on the poster is Al Jeraulds roadster , He owned a speed shop in National City Calif.
I have a facebook page dedicated to Paradise Mesa Drag Strip , everyone is welcome to look or join the group , there are some cool old photos

Just saw this from years ago, just wanted to add that I believe the 1925 Roadster that Gus Manuum illustrated for this poster is Paul Schiefer’s Roadster. The same roadster he added the 1927 body to and eventually Joaquin turned into the rear engine car
