This would be a great addition to the tech archives regardless of where it came from. HRP

  5. Not sure why they list Pontiac 350/400 and 455s different. They are the same. Yes there is a flaw in their info from my first glance.

It's a really good vintage car book & entertaining to read. There's some funny commentary about "new" style electronic ignition & early smog control.

It also gives you all the Italian ge****t p/n's to convert your muncie to an M-22

Here's another vintage swap book - Chevy only

The list seems to be incomplete, and inaccurate. Where are the 287-389 Pontiacs? The Cadillac starters 331-390 are on the right, the Olds 303-394 are on the left!

I agree, many of the figures shown are inconsistent with other pubished data on this subject. Nonetheless, I ordered a copy just for whatever entertainment value and possible useful info it may contain.

I have several similar books from as far back as the 60's........I'm just a 'junkie' for this kind of thing :D

  11. Pontiacs are the exact same outer dimensions whether it being a early, late block 287-455. All the same . Boy do they have weird sizes? Like I said on the 5th post. I wouldn't trust anything in this book as fact as the auther obviously didn't look up anything as simple as these engines.

Is there a list of external dimensions for inline engines available?
