I have a 47 Fleetline that has the round Harrison heater, the core is cracked and all the ones i look up are for earlier years or say they only fit trucks of my year. I would just hate to spend the money for a new heater core that does not fit. Anyone have any experience with this?
Not if it has a round core. They are made of unobtanium. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I have a slightly older round Harrison heater but it has a square core inside that is fitted to a round mounting plate. Note the corners of the tanks are rounded off.
Put a rubber plug on one connection. Make a test plug out of heater hose and a fitting for the other connection and pressurized it to about 10 psi and test for leaks. Solder the leaks and you should be good. Sent from my SM-T350 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Old thread, might still be something helpfully. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/what-else-has-a-round-heater-core.447348/
