Hopefully, Mikey's gonna show us a 2x4 adapter for his 4-71 soon. What kind of carbs are you going to run?

65ED61AD-5EC2-4AC5-884F-5C901BE5093D.jpeg Here's dirty and grimey- my slingshot when I got everything home. Thick layer of oily crud took about half a day of soaking with diesel to get loose. Sorry about pic quality I have some better ones saved somewhere. I'm a little surprised how much these have degraded in 7 years...

  4. Found that pic on the web somewhere. The top looks like it is made for three strombergs but not drilled for mounting studs. I can not figure out what the log looking thing on the top side of the blower is.

Looks like it could be used for a 4 carb intake. I like the way it picks up the front and ribs of the blower.

I'd say that was the plan from the start, either that or it has an extra port for a fuel pressure gauge.

  8. '67 Howard 426 Hemi powered.jpg How about factory dual quads on a 426 Hemi. Back in the sixties, you could just put $500 down, specify your favorite source of power, and the hull builder installed whatever you wanted. Sanger Ski Hydro.jpg

  9. 9562cdb649b47d4eeef1fa498140c756.jpg Tom McMullen's roadster, in it's more commonly know version......Tom drove this car every day with a 4-71 blown, dual quad fed stroked and poked 327. Nothing here is just for looks....it got raced at the drags, the dry lakes, and uncountable street races. Not a fad...Tom was Hardcore, this hot rod was HOT.

  10. How about a M/T Power Ram, other than the square corners I wonder what the difference is to the regular M/T crossram Screenshot_20191218-234109_Facebook.jpg Screenshot_20191218-234040_Facebook.jpg Screenshot_20191218-234130_Facebook.jpg

  17. Speaking of Joe Mondello….He did the longblock assy and ported the heads on my Dad's ski boat with a 425 inch Olds. Topside induction was Edelbrock O4b intake with 850 double pumper. It went 6500 with no oiling problems...Thanks Joe. Colorado River 001.jpg

Just needs a fuel line from the tank to the fuel log so the carbs have something to burn and it will be ready for the road.

  21. Good eye 64 Dodge. What I saw was the splines on the steering box, like the pitman arm is missing. Also catching my eye, are the motor mounts....early '32 style from the crossmember to the front of the block, not using the water pump arms. Details to be sure. If you've ever built Flatheads, you know 4 carbs can be too much, hopefully the builder here is using 81s, not 97s or 48s. However, I really dig the photo and would love to own that car.

Definite a nice car, just a work in progress with a few loose ends to be tied up. My first flathead build was in a gasser in 1962, 3 97s and a killer Kenny Harmon cam. Ran great right up until the crank departed the block. My favorite build was a 239 with a pair of Scott 97 injectors on a tall Tattersfield manifold. Touchy to start, crank it with the electric fuel pump off and turn on the pump when it was up to speed, but it ran great and I drove it on the street that way for a year or so.

  25. Hot Canary's engine.jpg This was a photo I took in 1969. ( I was 14 ) The Husband and Wife who owned the place we stayed at, at the Colorado River, had stored away in the garage, an all-wood flatbottom circle racing boat which they built in '58. The boat was painted bright yellow with a wood deck ( naturally ), and was powered by this neat Nailhead Buick with 6-Stromberg 97s on a U-Fab intake. This old girl named "Hot Canary" could do an honest 70mph back in '58, which was flat haulin'. Note, even the canvas boat cover pulled back here was bright yellow to match the boat.
