I had a posted a technical question about a brake component setup that was for a newer year and it was deleted for not being the correct era for this site.
It was specifically asking about size and calculation which is pretty universal information. I have read several post from very knowledgeable people on here regarding brake application and set up which prompted me to think someone could help me.
Gone are the days of most of those that know what they are talking about in regards to REAL Mechanical knowledge and from what I had been reading in here thought I finally found a place to get some help. If this doesn't get deleted before it's seen I would appreciate it if someone could at lease point me in a direction or message me. Thank you.

    68C40,

The HAMB's focus is pre-1965 Hot Rod and Custom cars.
"Traditional" Hot Rods and Custom cars/ trucks for that specific ERA.

Yes - your info MAY be considered universal but understand if we allow the subject matter pertain to a 68 C40 truck - then with over 300,000 members - if we let you do it - then others would then try to include their off topic - newer rides for a general question.

Yep - our focus is narrow - but that's what this website is.
It may not be for everybody - we understand.

    Suggestion...….
    Try contacting these guys -

They seem to have the focus of your Year and Model trucks plus may be a good parts source.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck,

There probably isn't any difference between the brakes on a 64 and 68 C40 and if you happen to drop a 64 body on your 68 frame your question becomes instantly acceptable. But in the mean time try ATHS (American Truck Historical Society) on facebook.

    1965 and earlier-Ryan's words.
    Not pre 1965.
It was a technical question, posted as an introduction, about a truck? Not quite a traditional hot rod or custom.
The rules are clearly posted for revue and are necessary to preserve the integrity of the site.
We do not do rebuilds on heavy trucks, busses, earthmovers, army tanks or such. I don't care if it is a 1962 earthmover, it don't fit in. Traditional hot rods and customs- real simple.

Yes it was and out of respect of the integrity of the site that's SPECIFICALLY why I asked it there. Since it was about braking components and how to calculate what specific components would work I figured that's EXACTLY the same scenario one is faced with when building a "traditional hit rod or a custom" by definition CUSTOM is exactly my scenario.
It's just a shame that instead of helping me out with WHERE to turn you spent the time quoting the rules.
I'm sure in your years of wrenching when you where at your witts end you NEVER ask s question of someone with greater knowledge. Although the focus of this site is what it is the ESSENCE of it's existence it the very same principal. A place to gain and offer help and knowledge different or greater than your own.
