History Images of vintage gas stations ~ pre 65

VERY early stations had the pumps right at the curb!

 

Looks like a delivery truck maybe it's loaded or the springs are tired from all it's loads.

Zimmerman's located on RT. 340, ***********, Lancaster County, PA. Scene with Harrison Ford in movie "Witness" was filmed in front of the store. Store is still there but gas pumps are gone.

Israel, early 50s. Yes those are two Henry Js, ***embled in Israel be Kaiser-Ilyn who moved to Studebakers and Jeeps when Kaiser-Frazer stopped production.

isn't it funny how in the old days stations always had signs saying clean rest rooms. nowadays they tell you they are broke. i always ask the clerks do they pee in their pockets or around back against the wall?
