I hate these threads as much as the next guy, but i honestly need some help with this one. I'm going to be selling or trading my 28 dodge sedan. Trading, i dont really care about a value, but selling, i need to know what its worth. I have a hard time putting value on something i did, my time doesnt cost me anything, at all. so anyway, its a 28 dodge coupe, that i made into a sedan. The metal work is good. Its a one of a kind car, in my opinion. Its not a sedan done up like this, but a coupe, and the proportions are freaking good. engine is a 364 buick nailhead, trans is a th400, rear end is 8" ford, front end is 39 ford. runs good, stops good, rides like a hot rod. The thing is pretty freaking quick. not much interior, no door windows, rubber seals, little stuff like that. It has a heater, wow. Tires have good tread. Everything is there for a good solid driver. I have an ad in the classifieds here, but i havent had much response at all, maybe twice. I listed it on craigslist, and someone offered me 3k for it. Maybe im way off, maybe the car isnt worth anything, or desireable. I dont know, thats why i Need Help!

3K IMO is a pretty big lowball, it may not be an A but maybe being different makes it more desirable....I would say that it is worth between 5-7K depending on what you think and the buyer thinks.

Cool ride. I don't know about a good price, but 3 grand seems way too low. I have sold cars in the past and just had to wait for the right buyer. I can remember one that took about a week and one that took 6 months. Patience usually pays off when selling a car.

You've got a good looking, unique vehicle with a lot of work involved. Not finished, but drivable. Look at what even a Model A rolling chassis costs, or even a cheap side fiberglas body. If it were mine, here in the east and I didn't need the bread, I'd just stare at anyone not offering at least 7 or 8K. IMHO.

    3k no-way! I would start at about $8500. Just my 2c.

  7. Looks too cool to sell for only 3G's. Hold out for at least double that unless you really need to sell.

your time is money, and price depends on how bad you want it gone. but 3g's is too low, i would agree ball park of what everyone is saying. you got a lot of the hard skills out of the way. get in and drive it type car.

The price of anything is easy.
It's exactly what someone else is willing to pay for it.
If I was closer and needed yet another friggin car, I would probably
go 6k for that in a heartbeat, providing the workmanship is as good as
    you say.

I'll give you 3g's for it right now.

I'll paypal it to you tonight and come out and get that car in person.

    I ain't shitting you either.

I would think that at $5,000 it would be a screaming deal, but I'd have to have pics of welds and finish work and would need a test drive to decide.

At $8,000 I'd want it to not leak any fluids and have no suspension problems. :D (yeah, I read your other thread on the rough ride).

  12. after reading the posts, seems three grand is just about right. You have one solid offer, and alot of experts telling you what it should bring, but not offering any money. Always seems the ones not buying know the most about prices. Back in the day on the ol' used car lot they were called "third basemen".

Three grand is pretty low for such a unique ride! I like it! I'm having the same hassle selling my 26 T roadster! Everybody wants it, but NOBODY is willing to pay for it! ( and it's turn-key!) Don't give it away! Good Luck!

I say $8000 is a good deal. I mean, you have a lot of love and time in it, not to mention a lot of parts and money. You cant get a nice ricer for $8000 and that thing is WAY cooler than a ricer.
