need to know how the fuel vent pipe for the fuel tank runs on the 59 ford . My 53 enters the inter rear fender panel runs up around the tail light and back out the inter fender panel My 58 Edsel pacer runs through the inter fender panel up to the top of the fender then follows the trunk lip and goes out by the filler neck. I think the 59 runs through the inter fender up the wheel well and back out but not sure cant find it and i replaced the inter panel so there no holes. any one have any pictures ?
In a 56 there’s a grommet that behind the license plate. You see it when you pull it down to put in gas.
Found a picture made a new on that hugged the body closer This is close to what another 59 ford had. Only diff his went straight up and I made mine follow the fender skin There is a clip that the pipe is mounted in near the trunck lip. On the 59 custom 300 it excites here. There is a cover under neath to help pull fumes away like a backwards hood scoop. Under side driver side near bumper seal.
This is a factor bent overflowing pipe for the fuel tank. It is laying lose. There is a clip by the trunck drip rail it goes in. When it is properly installed the tube stands several inches from the fender. Since I had to make one and my car won't be oringal. I chose to follow the body , not as easy to make but I think it looks better
it looks good I am sure the scoop as you call it is a guard for the line.there would be no fumes there unless line was damaged or rusted.keep the pictures of build coming
Nice job. I agree with G***er1....there would be fumes there. That's what the pipe is for...venting fumes and equalizing pressure.
I have to go look at mine. I get a little gas fumes once in a while. I did replace the rubber where I could get at it.
