I bought this 1960 235 over 5 years ago to replace the 57 235 in my 37 Chevy p/u that has a rattle,it needed a rear main seal so I put all new gaskets in it and gave it a inspection but that was over 3 years ago. I got tired of cleaning the rust off the block every year so it got paint tonight,I hope to get it dropped in before winter is over. 100_9600.JPG

M***ey Ferguson gray from Tractor Supply or Rural King,I still need to find a 53/54 balancer for a 3/8 belt and a water pump. I am going to have it complete so I can just drop in and go and thinking about making a stand to run it on so I can fix any problems before it goes in so if I do that I will need another set of Fenton headers.

I did this. I used the stand I built to break in the engine as it was a total rebuild. I bought a single barrel known good Holley carb off the HAMB to break it in, and I'm going to give Tom Langdon's dual Carter Weber carbs a try on an Offenhauser intake. Haven't run the engine with the new intake and carbs yet. I'm anxious to see how it runs with those carbs. That engine looks great. It will look better in the truck going down the road though!

Check with Tom Langston at Langston’s Stovebolt 6. I bought a machined 292 damper and it has two 3/8” groves for my GMC. He really likes the 292 damper. You also can buy them from a lot of suppliers and remove 3/8-1/2” of the collar. I made a spacer for my pump but you can do it anyway you want. He may have the exact amount to remove. You can see in the photo more could been removed for me but we have plenty of room at the front of the engine. Good luck 0717531C-C63C-4B2B-906C-BCA98FF4968B.jpeg 00259958-D8F7-4F56-B1C5-BAC3738F63C8.jpeg

This engine has not been rebuilt,it has been taken apart to replace all seals and gaskets and inspect and put back togather. I want to run it so I can tell if I put it back togather right and its been a couple years since I resealed it.

I used the rattle can Ford engine gray for the 235 in my '46 Chevy coupe. It appears to be a little darker than yours.
