Another "How Much is it worth" post - 235 Chevy Motor

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chopped50Ford, Jun 29, 2006.

  1. Okay, im clueless on these so a little help is requested.

My buddy has a rebuilt (low milage) 235 Chevy Inline 6, complete from fan to flywheel; It runs nice and is bone stock. Included w/ it is a 66 Aluminum powerglide trans.

Any suggestions on a fair price for this setup? I was thinking $300 - $400 bucks?

    Thanks

that sounds about right...maybe up to 5 or 600 ...I bought 2 235's recently for 200 each with no trannys.....one was rebuilt somewhat recently and the other is just a runner.

Yeah I just bought a low miles 235 runner with a tranny for $200CDN, so your price sounds about right.

UHHH!!! i want it!!! my first "cool" old car was a 63 Impala 2 door hardtop... what was left of it was sitting at my parents house and my brother recently scrapped it out. i will no longer speak to him because of it. i was crushed when i heard it was gone. he had no right!!! i WILL get another one some day. preferably one from your fine state that is not rusted out like mine turned out to be (under all the bondo).

not that i can afford it right now but what do you hope to get out of it??? i love those cars...

    damn that sux bigtime bro.

this is my 3rd impala, sold my 64 & 96 last year. i had big plans for it, but i came across a nice model a i couldn't pass up.

i want 1500, but for a hamber i'd let it go for 1200 obo.

both drip rails are rotted out
    q-panels have been repaired
    floors were patched
    ps, pb
    flawless fenders and trunk lid
hood is in really good shape
    235 no tranny

it's pretty damn solid except for those drip rails. i'm taking pics tonight

I bought a running '60 235 on ebay, complete carb to trans with all linkages for $200. There's a tag on it that suggests it was rebuilt at one time. What you're asking seems reasonable.

  13. I do not think that 66 trans will be the right bellhousing pattern, in those years it has the SBC/BBC/new 6 cyl pattern.

  14. thanks for the info. guys!

My buddy is the one who has this setup, and Im looking to buy for myself for a project.

Ill hit him up with the price and see what happens. :)
