HAMB FAMOUS??who's had a mag spread??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by breeder, Jun 23, 2006.

  1. I also made it into the cartoons in the same magazine, but this time about A-Bombers old style weekend.
It have been in the Swedish mags Wheels and Power many times (Not sure if that is something to be proud of or not), one article and alot of carshows. the German Street magazine, the English Cl***ic American, Rolls and Pleats, before that Continental Restyling, Custom Rodder, Rod and Kulture, Danish, Swedish and Norwegen newspapers and the Swedish National TV.
Oh not to forget one music video and Mad Fabricater # 2 and 3.

I was gonna keep this to myself in light of the "Gold Chain" stigma, but decided I could blame this on the customer and give way to my ego. Even though my contributions to this car were minimal, it came out of our shop and my mentor in the ch***is business did most of the work. We set up the ch***is, brakes, suspension and widened the rear wheel tubs, but kept them looking stock. The body was done by the most skilled guy I've ever met, Michael Domoracki. He restores stainless garnish by hand with hours of hammer, file and polish work. Amazing! The rest was done by folks I'm not familiar with, but the pictures speak for the quality. I know it isn't a HAMB car, but we're proud of it, none the less. This is our second to be published. The other was a 1100 hp '95 Camaro SS. I won't bore you with the details. :)

None of my cars in mags yet, as none of them are actually drivable yet, but I had some hot rod/'50 Americana paintings in a CKD spread a few years back and a full color page in Street Rodder of Jim Gove's (Alter Boys) roadster. I think both were in '03. I've written for Magneto (Tired Blood) and am working on more. The poster I sold here on the HAMB was Hop Up's web page cover for a while... I'd like to do the print cover sometime between the Weenser covers. Good to see us HAMBers getting some print coverage! Below are some of the published paintings and the Magneto cover and a promo pic of yours truly, published somewhere...

  7. It's never MY car that hits the mags--always someone else's :( (maybe cause my stuff's junk:confused:) Still,I got braggin' rights to the cars I fitted and squirted color on!:D
Two featured in R&C, a bike on the cover of Underground Choppers, another in the Horse, some show shots of a couple more cars.....and a LOT of coverage of Big Olds :)
And found out today, one I did is on this year's cover of the GoodGuys Annual

All that and a dollar gets me a cup of coffee at McDonald's.....:p

We were all over David Perrys Pin Up's book.2/3rd of the stuff shot in Sacramento were shot at my shop and at Sac.Raceway. Also my car show (the Carnival) is featured in the new Gearhead Magazine. Scott

  11. Yeah, my Dad's yellow '34 5W has seen some ink, an American Rodder feature from about '97 and some shots, by accident, in a handful of TRJs. And one Ganahl book, on what they call a "frontispiece." I don't know the specifics, I never really cared about hot rod magazines.

I think there's some interest in his new project too, but you guys will hear that from him I'm sure. He never shuts up. That 5W was better when it was brown anyway.

I've had some of my cars in 6 mags, It's cool looking at a car in a magazine and then realize it's yours.

    THE JOKER rules.

    ...But a batman comic don't count as a car mag. ;) :D

I've had my artwork in a magazine or two.
I had a sculpture of mine shown on "Good Morning America" once too.

    Does that count????

My cars don't cut it when it comes to mags.

Yeah, but you're in the same car club as a "magazine guy" so you really don't count... Joto...
