neato... buddy bought a fiberglass roadster that bolted to a kieser chassis, 1957... looks kinda like this one... burn 'em if you can...
I agree. It seems that some of the young guys are trying to rewrite history with International trucks and off brand cars that were never used for traditional hotrods
Sprites make cool little hot rods - here are a cople of pictures of a Pontiac 389 powered Sprite a friend of mine built back in 1969-70. It was geared to go over 150 mph but we scared ourselves when it got up around 120 and decided that was quite fast enough thank you.
Seems to me that in addition to coupes, there were pickups (Willys) panel trucks (Thames) wagons (Nomad), Anglias etc. Ron Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
What are you doing for the slicks ? Looks like its going 1.50's or better! Be sure and post that 9 second time slip when it happens.
Hey Cooke, we are running Towel City Pic Crust slick which I think are pretty awesome. For a recapped tyre running 30 psi we’ve had a best ‘60 of 1.41 which makes me laugh every time I tell someone. We have finally worn them out getting carried away with big burnout and are considering so proper wrinkle wall slicks next. Our best run of 10.55 @ 124 was with only a 1.55 ‘60 so hoping for some low 10.20’s or some high 10.10’s this year now we’ve fixed some issues and it’s now revving to 8,000 rpm as planned.
I learned a lot of my cussing and wrench turning and beer drinking when I was a kid helping the next door neighbor work on his bug eyed Sprite. He and I could swap the engine in that thing in a couple of hours. He drove it like he stole it too! Love those little cars!
I guess tucking the tires under the body(if possible) would make it handle super squirrel-ly!? Looks like a "fun lil ride" 6sally6
