I'm not sure exactly what year she started getting interested, probably 1956 in her junior year ... my sis put together this scrapbook with a lot of care. Bummed car mags from the guys into cars, bought some, and clipped from any source she'd run across. Some came from a "teen'' magazine called "Dig" that had a feature car each month. She would have been 14 or 15. I was 11 or 12, & I damn near cried when I'd see her cut up an issue of Car Craft or Rod & Custom .... the California mags weren't sold on our local news stands, and she wouldn't tell me where the guys at school got them ! Then, she started buying them & cutting them up !!! One Saturday when we came to town (we lived out 7 miles in the country) I followed her to see where she got them - the local muffler shop sold them ! So, from November '58 on, that's where most of my money went, unless it got spent on models ... Here's a few pages of her first book ...
That is just way to kool. I don't have any sisters into cars but both my daughters are. My oldest daughter Tracey brought the '62 Fairlane when she was 16 and still has it, she is now 48. My other daughter Corrine & I were building the T roadster together, she has since sold it.
Priceless scrapbook. My compliments. My sis is into pickup trucks and cars, flames, 4WD, and they better be loud.
I can't say my sister was really into cars but she did drive a Nickey 427 '66 Malibu. She was married and that was their daily driver in 1971. I'm assuming those are recent photos of her scrapbook. If so, then your sister is aces in my book.
