Had a guy want some fender well exit headers for his Galaxie but this off the shelf set was 4" short. Normally I would just build a new set, or add the extra tube on the outlet side, but the customer wanted the extensions added to the primary side for looks.

I figured the process would be helpful to anybody modifying their exhaust.

The key is building a quick simple fixture. Something to bolt to the flange and catch the outlet. I use a piece of angle iron on the outlet side and place it at the end, that way I know where the headers start and end, and sometimes I also tack in some guides (bent pieces of round stock or tube) to outline the header to make sure no simple mistakes are made during re***embly that could cause clearance issues. 20191023_121712.jpeg

This fixture was built fairly quickly from s****, but it allowed me to move the flange back while still maintaining the orientation of the header. Everything stays flat and square and I know tubes are in the right place. 20191023_145934.jpeg

Yes. This cup is a size 14. Most anything bigger than an 8 has a diffuser in the cup.
