to paint it flat black with flames. i think a suede look would be cool, but defintily not flat black... hes bagged it and done it right, doing good bodywork. might consider a dark blue or something, but i think a lime green or something light would work... anyone have any pics of 61 or similiar caddy kustoms??? or want to photoshop this one??
pleeze no flat blk and flames...have him do like longroof did..i like shiny on the bigguns....flake ...lota lota flake!!! 1 mans 2 cents
im trying! haha.although hes pretty set..hoping this post will get him thinkin' like i said i even like the suede look but with color...baby blue, light yellow like longroofs, light/lime green...
No flat black! There are photos floating around of a bas *** heavy metal flake blue 61 on here somewhere. Also some nice metallic green ones from the Round up this year...one I think is Jimmy Vaughns...or was. anything but flat black...I know...I have a flat black hood on my 62 and it's ugly. bryan edit. i think the blue car is from Paso? Also there was a cool flamed out 61 at Viva Las Vegas last year that was incredible
there back on track..[/quote] Thanks for those pics, just the ones I was thinking about. So I guess the heavy flake blue car and the black flamed car are the same? KNow which one is current? Killer car either way. Never seen the orange 61 with the scallops...clean! thanks bryan
I agree with ya guys, don't do the flat black & flame thing. Look at other kustoms that catch your eye. Be willing to try to come up with something different. This Caddy was at this years SK500. It got my attention. Happy Trails, Mick
heres a moredoor i bought 2 weeks ago..dont have it home yet...but i like the white/ with rust feel!!!
Ok, i'm gonna toss my 2 cents in. The pic of the flat blk Caddy w/the flames ain't so bad. BUT notice it has a light top and LOTS of flames, breaking up all that blk. But, I agree, color is better even in suede. I really like a 'flaked roof (that's what I have planned for my T-Bird). I'm tired of flat blk "everything", not that it can't look good, but it's like the first thing some people think of when they want a "traditional" car. Great car. Keep us posted on the progress.
thats realy a tough call. all of these Caddy's look good. a friend of mine has a 65 Coupe DeVille that is black with flames (shiny though) and i LOVE it. i'm a big fan of black and of flames but i might avoid it just because the m***es have taken to it so strongly in the past few years. thats sorta the point of this hobby, is to stand out. right?
the persuader I have used successfully to talk a couple guys out of flat black--- "Why do you want to take such a cool and unique car and make it look just like everybody else's flat black car? Do you NOT want your car to stand out and be different?
The term stands out like a sore thumb comes to mind. Those other yahoos don't have a clue what they're missing. How many car alarms do you guys set off?
Rob i think a suede jobber with some sort of tan with scallops or something with this pagan gold mega flake on the roof...that would look sweet... this belongs to one of the Choppers out of Cleveland..
