I'm sorry to hear health issues have kept you from enjoying your Merc. It's a beautiful car and deserves some road time!!!
Are any of your Sons (or Grandchildren) interested in the car? There are many car folks that have passed their specialty cars onto their children. Papas's beloved car stays in the family and is in good hands. This also means there's a chance that they occasionally chauffeur you to a cruise or a quick ride into town for an ice cream. You continue to enjoy the car on occasion w/o any strings attached (maintenance, costs, etc.). Kind of like Grandkids-enjoy their company, then hand them back off to your kids!

This 50 is available for around $90k. Complete ground up build and started with a rust free body. Don’t think he’s looking for trades though

you might have to sell yours first and pay cash for one. old cars quite often come up for sale because the owners are in need for cash and cannot trade because they are no farther ahead.

there are 5 50-51 merc's listed on the upcoming BJ Scottsdale auctions.

Yes, not many but doesn't mean people don't like them, means people are hanging onto them unless they get a price that they cannot refuse.

Here it is a month after my original post about Chopped Mercs. and I am beginning to see a few more listed on the internet. Have had a couple of near deals with individuals. Boy, the stories I could tell about these experiences! Classic car dealers want me to give away my 34'!

Hanging in there and hoping something will come up. If you know of any Lead Sled Mercs. for trade please let me know. I have put my 34' up for sale in a few places but not pushing to sell. I would rather trade. ;)

Have not had any luck selling cars on this site. Also some responders are well (I'll keep it to myself).

Did you guys see the 4 door 49' Mercury Lead Sled at the Barrett Jackson auction yesterday afternoon in Arizona? The auction is on the MotorTrend network. It sold for $100,000 and WOW, what a beautiful car it was!!

cars-on-line.com site has 50 49-51 Mercs for sale right now including mine, how many are what you looking for and willing to trade ? you check that part out, trades are tough IMO. I went BJ yesterday and saw a very nice 32 Ford roadster sell @ 25.5K, several deals to be had, again IMO. I'm thinking the 30's cars have dropped in value some as we are ageing out, I sold my 32 3 window 4 years ago and got very good money for it, now I see comparable or nicer cars for 10K less, been tempted to buy another, buy trying to reduce my inventory. I've Been offered several trades, my ad states NO Trades, got one I'm thinking about but as stated looking to reduce/downsize. Good Luck
