Anyone going to the Atomic Frolic at the Highdive on Sunday? I just got asked to take pictures throughout the event, so if you see a gangly redhead with a camera, come up and say hello. The web page is light on details, apart from that it's an early show. I think the organizer said bands start at 7:30 and there's some sort of cruise in beforehand, but that's all I really know.
Andrew, I know that Terry Hawkins, Charlie Brown, Nick Wiggins, and myself will be up there. I think the "show" part is just wherever you can park out on the street. There is a cruise at Steak and Shake in Urbana tonight. I usually go just to pick up on the "wisdom" from all the locals and see what new cars they have bought and claim to have built. Ha Ha Ha Also the greatest band to ever come out of Lexington (IL) is going to be playing tonight (Friday) at the Phoenix. That of course would be the world famous "demolition derby". Come on out and see "the Dude" in action again. The Phoenix! Holy hell, I haven't been there in forever. I'm going to have to p***. I've got friends in from out of town tonight. I've never been to the Steak & Shake cruise. The county fair and parkland shows were enough to put me off. Kind of why I was asking if any HAMBers would be in attendance on Sunday. If nothing blows up, I'll even have my car there. No better way to impress out of towners by introducing them to "The Dude" the closest thing central Illinois has to a superhero. He works at a garden center during the day and Rocks the **** out at night......if he doesn't p*** out first. I wish I could be half as awesome as him. As for the fair, you only need to hang out in the beer tent for the Demo Derby and motorbike races. That is where the REAL action is.
