My starter and fuel pump both burnt out simultaneously while driving a couple days ago. This is in my 8ba flathead , with new wiring. Electrical ??

are you running 12 volts to a 6volt starter? that will give it a shorter life. fuses don't short they open. a fuse is a short, too much current will cause them to open saving whatever it is you were protecting with the fuse. how long did it work before it stopped working?

A 6 volt starter will work but if you crank for long periods to start you will fail the starter. Is the fuel pump a 6 volt also? If it is a twelve volt how do you have it wired? The pump ought to have a relay and a circuit breaker for safer operation. Was the pump new or old? Any problems prior to it failing? More info and we can give you a better answer.
