I guess when you live in a town with no tv watching a hot girl pump gas is pure entertainment.

 

Before the company name changed to Mobil in 1955, it was SOCONY (Standard Oil Company of New York). When the company merged with Vacuum oil in 1931 they began the use of the pegasus as a logo which has continued to this day. So, yes, it is the SOCONY logo.

I had to google image the less than pretty six seater car. Beechcraft Plainsman. Interesting.

 

An automobile designed by an aircraft manufacturer. So was the SAAB and this reminds me of those cars in their early days.
