Technical Need 1965 Pontiac Acadian parts info....

A buddy of mine had the 67 Acadian Beaumont, and although there were considerable differences in body and interior trim, the running gear parts were interchangeable with the Chevelle.
I can't specifically remember much about the Acadian models, but the Chevy II based version of the Acadian was called the Canso, and that might explain the confusion regarding the brake parts.

I miss the days when a person could walk into an auto parts store, and know that most of the guys you were going to talk to, were the living version of the Hollander Interchange.
If your friend still has a problem, PM me. I have a friend that is a recently retired manager of an auto parts outlet, and he would know how to chase down the problem. I don't want to bother him on spec, because he has cancer and is not doing well.

Acadian's are not Pontiac's. GM wanted to add another line of cars for Pontiac dealers to sell to compete against Chev and other compact cars so they patterened them on the Chevyll. Some sites call them Pontiacs.

 

did they send them by mule train?what was the result if they were sent by usual method.

 

This BC-based shop/yard had a TV show and they fixed up an Acadian, and show at last a 62, 63, and a 67 on the website if any of those are compatible. They don't sell parts but if you can get everything you need it might be worth a phone call to ask about a whole car.

Sorry guys, forgot to fill you in, Rock auto sent the wrong parts,, so I suggested the old car center to my friend and guess who came through in the end, yup, the old car center in langley bc. All good now.

 

is the acadian canso your buddy has emerald green with tan interior ?
