Folks Of Interest Former NASCAR Driver passed

I had a polop at the age of 32 . Symptom was blood on T/P when I wiped . I am 72 now and have been checked every 5 years . No problems but I am sure I would have if I let it go . Don't be lazy - GET CHECK !!!!!!!!!!!!

 

He was really a nice guy. I didn't know him but ran into him occasionally at a car storage complex near our homes. He was out of racing but I asked him if he had any interest in driving Top Fuelers again. He said the only thing separating him from one was a sponsor. I could tell from his demeanor he was rehashing some fond memories as we were talking. That part of his racing career is something his NASCAR and Indy peers can only imagine.

That was about 5 years ago I believe, just before his cancer diagnosis. He gave it a hard fight with all the treatments and surgeries and it made me hurt hearing of the pain and discomfort he was enduring. PLEASE get yourself checked. It can make a huge difference in how you live your final years. My condolences to his family and friends.

 

I meet John about ten years ago, the week before the Indy 500. He would volunteer his time with children with special needs. He spent several hours, hanging out, talking to the parents and taking pictures, signing autographs for the kids. He was a cl*** act.
