Now before you all reply - just buy new. Have a wobbler. Old show car. Chrome flaking drums. Does anyone know if/where one can have it balanced or is that too old school? I want to keep the traditional original if possible. New would be too obvious.
Very cool RPU.I bet you could do the fronts on a old style bubble balancer like the kind used to balance tires.Use something like washers spot welded in the area thats light to make it balance. Have you driven it at speed so you know its not a rim,or tire causing trouble?
The Kelsey rims are true. The tires on the rims were almost spot on. But after adding wire spacers they did not clear so I had to grind some of the existing balance weight to make them seat. So self induced pain. Yes. Now how to fix without replacing.
Very do able...... using an old style bubble balancer. Instead of a wheel, just a drum. Now , weights they use on aluminum wheels- they come in .25OZ increments. Balance, and place....... Heat should not be a factor if not road racing.....Average driving a modern day holds up with excessive heat, but this is not on the braking surface though, and I know that....... With an older ride, the wear and heat is less........ You can also spot weld washers as suggested, but , just whatever is easier for your situation......
Google: Snap-On wheel balancer WBK 2C, or: Snap-On WBK 2C. You can balance the drum or the wheel separately or together.
