That's pretty funny. I can just imagine the outside carbs bouncing around at idle.

The iron intake was even made into aluminum (courtesy Krylon) for the full effect.

    I'm impressed.

I suppose I could do the same thing to make a tri power setup for a BBC using that rare 1969 2bbl intake I have.....

  11. Heck, Olds J2 tripower intakes are going for like $50-$75 lately, you could probably do the same thing with one of those for the same money.

I've heard of people running tri power setups with only the main carb actually operating. It's not really fake though.

... and maybe cover the roof with some sparkly vinyl sign material... that'd look almost period perfect.

Believe it or not, I remember an article in one of the major magazines in the early '80s about making a fake tripower like that. Remember, that dark era also featured bogus 6-71 cases covering up a 2bbl.

I am going to buy it and two Nissan 4 banger engines and JB weld them together and make a fake V8.

hehe..those things may look hideous, but you cant argue that in some way it's period correct..back in the day they bolted fake stuff to cars all the time and we still do it today..dummy spotlights, lakes that dont work, portawalls, fake fur on the inside...Barris even said that at one point they had fake quad headlights cuz they werent allowed to have 4 headlights!

    The fake 3 x 2 is bad,
I feel the same about fake "HEMI" valve covers and people putting Rocket valve covers on chebbies --dumb, IMO
