Not trying to promote the wheels or anything else for that matter, Hopefully we are mature enough to overlook the little stuff to be able to see the overall idea, Thought others here would be interested to see this too, like it or not....funky...weird ...maybe even ugly?...I kinda like it
I am speechless................. looking closer, I noticed the hood shape at rear corners isn’t correct for AD trucks.....further attention suggests that might be Studebaker pickup front sheet metal grafted to an AD cab with custom grille work. Willing to bet even money it’s on an S-10 ch***is.
I'm a fan of the square bodied T-birds but not this. The workmanship looks pretty good but I'm amazed that someone would go to the effort to do this. Do you have a shot of the front end?
The two styles don't go together for me. But it ain't mine. [emoji16] Sent from my LG-TP450 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The fault lies not with the body work, which appears first cl***. It's the clash of styles or design approaches. The rear is square (bird) while the front is rounded. The result lacks harmony and reminds me of a "griffin, griffon, or gryphon - a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and sometimes an eagle's talons as its front feet. Wikipedia"
It’s neat. Would like to see the front end. Would if been nice if he could of made a tail gate of sorts for it I like it!
This truck is really no different than a lot of the radical customs on this site. As far as customs go, I dig it, someone put a lot of work in this. Ditch the wheels!
Had a 60 Squarebird mild custom and always liked them, there were several made into Rancheros and they look good but that is **** Ugly. Someone did a lot of work but didn't improve the design of either vehicle.
Surprising when so many legit old customs get eviscerated on here but this thing seems to get a p***, or at least, tactful comments. I like wild customs, and someone put a lot of effort into this one and went wild, so I can appreciate that. But the faux patina paint job is very distracting, as is the odd mash of styles and eras, and the 3 feet of trunklid left in place in lieu of a tailgate. I'd like to see this truck reworked with some kind of wild 60's canted quad front end treatment to help tie it all together, some revised bodywork without the sunvisor, paint, and proper wheels and such. With any luck, this will be the awkward, early-version of this build on it's way to being a wild show-custom.
Tailgate wheels and paint done right, It would have something going. Not my favorite, not the worst Ive seen
Somebody put an awful lot of effort into it, and I appreciate any hot rodder that will actually finish what they start.
Alcohol abuse is a threat that should be taken seriously, not only to ones health but also to the innocent sheet metal and auto parts that are meaninglessly destroyed in drunken, mindless stupor. I am considering introducing a bill at the state legislature that would require a breath interlock on TIG/MIG machines to prevent further such catastrophes. I'd name it "Thundermug"... Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Thundermug!!!!! Faster than a speeding Yugo, able to leap tall speedbumps with a single bound. Sent from my SM-S320VL using Tapatalk
I think this custom may not have gone far enough to reach its potential. If they sectioned however many inches out of the body it took to link up the bottom line of the bodies, or stopped short and did not blend the bed into the body, we would be looking at it differently.
