    Howdy kids...
Im trying to find where I can get some 'red iron oxide' primer to paint my chopped hi-boy.
Ive gone to a few paint shops here in the bay area(SF) and they look at me like I have 3 heads! Where can I find this stuff?
The paint im looking for is the same color as the red auto primer rustoleum sells. But theirs only comes in rattle cans and not in quarts or gallons!
    Can anybody help??
    thanks..

Have you tried an Eastwood catalog? I think they have it in there along with a few other colors. As far as stores that carry it, I'm not sure.

    Hey,

You may have to shop outside the bay area. Also, you could try marine
paint supply stores. True red oxide primers contain solvents and oils
that smog nazis don't like. Years ago these primers contained oxides and
lead and that's why they offered such protection, sadly those days are
    behind us.

I know you probably checked already but I get it at Walmart (wait mart). Comes in gallons of rustoleum.

Anybody have a close two-stage code in PPG or Valspar? I would like to just shoot a high fill primer, then squirt it with a two stage base. Give him that nice suede look, sealed. I need to get Dave's coupe done in the next week. Thanks.

I bought some rustoleum primer at the hardware store. It is the same as rattle can primer. Bought a quart the other day.
