History Hot Rods with 1925 DODGE Body

Somebody had to build a Hot Rod out of a 1925 Dodge Touring front half or Roadster body in the early days. Please post a photo if you know of one. Bob

 

Do you have a 25 Dodge body and are looking for inspiration?

 

Bob, I've got the complte front half of a 25-26 Dodge Brothers touring that my son and I are planning on building into a Prewar modified, just need to scrounge up the important stuff. I started a thread about it "SAW MILL SPECIAL" but havent gotten very far with it YET. Mitch Sorry about the double pic. EDIT.....because of the rona and other stuff, It has been since sold to a fella who needed it more than I....Mitch.

 

How about this one. The article says 1922, so who knows? Saw it cruising somewhere on YouTube and read that it is in the Speedway museum.

 

I also have a photo that was in a Hot Rod pictorial around 1968 of a very nice bright blue roadster, but I will have to look for it tomorrow .

 

Just found the picture I was referring to .It is the center fold of the 1967 HOT ROD PICTORIAL, the photo is to large to scan and post.

 

No, Someone posted a photo on the AACA Forum, the front half of a Touring body they found in Colorado. Guy is collecting a raft of negative shit (no surprise) from the restorers. Bob

 

Jim, that underslung is freaking badass, I have seen that one before...... Bob, screw those restorer guys, they don't know nuthin!! And as for finding a Dodge in Colorado, it seems there is a whole mess out here. I just found another 25 Touring in Georgetown Co. , the guys asking 400 for it so I'm probably bringing that one home also. Mitch.

When I was a kid, my grandpa used a 1926 Dodge to run the grain elevator.

Joe Pirronello’s Dodge, front half of a tub. It was on the cover of Car Craft in the ‘60’s with an article inside. I looked but can’t find the issue.

les Callahan roadster at b-ville before it was converted to show car

 

Stogy, that RPU had quite a history around here, starting when Jim Miller built it in the mid 50's, shown here in 55 with Ardun power. Then after selling it to the Wusz (sp) family who ran it with a 6 carb Desoto, injected 426 Wedge, and Hemi power. It is now re-stored and re-created in 2 different forms. It made the cover of Hot Rod and Car Craft I believe.

 

The picture jim32 found is a shortened topless T coupe. The magazine memory glands kicked in once more and produced this one.

Wow, that certainly has had a couple of admirable faces in it's lineage...Ardun powered to boot. Coincidentally I just posted a pic of the 1952 AMBR Award winner and they certainly had similar profiles...not that there is anything wrong with that mind you it was a Ford...and its Trophy wall shows it was well recieved...rightfully so.
