Hi everyone! A couple of weeks ago I became the, not so proud owner of a 1964 Ford falcon for 25 bucks!

I was walking near my shop and I see parked inside a house this faded blue car that looked abandoned. All of us know what to do in those situations! I knock the house door and asked the owner about that blue thing. The old man told me that his son parked the car back in 2007 remove some parts and never came back for it, so he was more than happy to sell it and remove that falcon of his property so he gave me that ridiculously cheap price. The next day I went with the truck n trailer to pick the car up and start inspecting what I got myself into (I’m not into 60s or later car at all).

Check the vin and realized it was a argentine built 64 falcon standard model blue on blue 170ci in-line 6. The car has a lot of 70/72 model parts like the grill headlights tail lights wheels etc etc but hey for 25 bucks I couldn’t asked for more! Haha

The next step was trying to start the damn thing. The only missing part where the starter and distributor cap (the parts that the previous owner removed) so I started hunting. Once I got those parts it was show time, the engine turned no problem, I cleaned the points and the carburetor, checked if the wiring was ok or at least decent to start it up, put some fuel and bingo it fired right up no problem I couldn’t believe it! I’ll love to have the same luck with a flathead v8 or a model a 4 banger hahaha they always need some tinkering before starting.

Also I rebuild the front brakes so I could move the car around my shop.

The next steps would be make it 100% drivable, repair the rusted floors, and maybe remove all the 70/72 parts that someone changed and put back the original ones.

Interesting ride. I would consider leaving the later parts intact for a custom look. Have fun with it.

In the states that would be a 63 body. 64 was a square body car.

The car was next to a tree as shown on the first pic! there was no roof where it was parked.

Hahah yes! If it’s old and rusted I’m sold! I’m more into pre 50s cars but when a deal like this comes up i simply couldn’t say no

Good for you. At first I thought the bumper override on the rear was a sway bar.

Great score, bring back the $25 cars! I might clean it up first and leave the later models parts, keep 'em guessing. Never seen those overriders before, kind of a early stock car look. Have Fun with it ( and share the adventure), Carp.

I ain't no expert, but those look like 5-lug rims. Weren't the early Falcons all 4-lug, until they started putting V8's into them?

I bought a 1962 from my room mate's dad for $100 when I was in college in the early '70's. Those things are hard to kill and oh the stories it could tell...

All argentine falcons 63-91 have 5 lug wheels, they are 4 door secretary mustangs hahaha
The only year we got the US version was in 62

That’s exactly what I have in mind! Early 60s stock car look, if I get the right stance the car will look killer!
As far as the later model parts I might keep the grill, headlights and maybe the tail lights, I really dig the stock 63 standard tail lights. Also I’ll probably remove the overrides

Oops! Should have read a little closer. Missed the Argentinian heritage of that one. That explains the differences.
