Today at work the Network nitwits switched over to a new Web-filtering interface to keep the staff from the good **** sites and from surfing the net.

The HAMB/Jalopy Journal was SPECIFICALLY BLOCKED.

    I am BUMMED.

There's gonna be some SERIOUS discussions between me and them over this.

Anyway, the word IS getting out there. I guess there is some solace in that.

    ****.

  3. They blocked Photobucket and some of the image posting sites, so I can't see some of the pics at work.

They haven't blocked the JJ/HAMB... yet

Im really not trying to be a jerk, its just my own experience, but honestly when I got the internet at home and quit trying to sneak the HAMB at work I started making more money cause I could pay attention to the customers and when I got home I could give the HAMB 100% and not have to read and look over my shoulder. It might be different at some other jobs if your in an office all day or what ever but I couldnt do my job and the HAMB at the same time and be worth a ****.

I'd take that as a warning, obviously too much work time being spent at the HAMB. You wouldn't be the first here fired for that.

This was on of the few websites that actually worked when I had computer access at my last job. Everything else almost was blocked. Damn websense.

Ahh... corporate network admins and IT folk. I don't miss them a bit! You may want to get the HAMB RSS feed to get new posts or google for "anonymous proxy". Screw THE MAN!

Still connect at my office but I limit it to lunch breaks. Too many emails to keep up with to have time to surf at work...

  14. Most content filtering software has options to block message boards and chat rooms. Unless your network admins are monitoring the amount of traffic you're generating (and with all the pics, it might be noticeable), they probably didn't do it on purpose.

Try www.kproxy.com . My work switched to a new ISP and it blocked a lot of stuff but you can get around 'em with an anonymous proxy. **** the man!

[Rant mode on] Do you all realize you're talking about finding ways to get paid for screwing off at work? What happened to your work ethic, and an honest days pay? Unless you're Ryan, getting paid to surf the HAMB is not exactly an honest day's work, is it? You wonder why so many parts are made in mexico these days? It's people like you who think you have the right to screw around off task. If I had a choice between a guy who worked 70% of the time and screwed around on the computer the other 30%, and someone who was on task 95-100% of the time and was glad to have a job at all, who do you think I would hire? get off the internet, get back to work, and EARN your pay.[Rant mode off]

Before I had a computer/Internet at home, I'd clock out and cruise the HAMB before heading Home (this is when I was manager in Operations at the tv station), but inevitably something big 'n wrong would happen, I'd have to get up and take care of it (after clocking out), and mutter to myself, "This is why I shouldn't linger after clocking out..."
I mentioned this a few times to the folks over the phone. For Christmas they gave me a new computer.
I gotta start *****in' about the wheels...

Another piece of evidence saying that the HAMB is big time is in this months R&C. Did anyone see the page in there that is an artists rendering of a garage, its a big pencil drawing that takes up two pages and has a flake green model A if i remember correctly. WEll anyway, there is a HAMB sticker sketched on to the guys toolbox. Kudos for the eye I guess.

Guys...most filtering sites on the Internet, filter sites by keywords. I know that at my old highschool the HAMB was blocked because the word "***" comes up in the ***le of the page. So any sites that have derogitory words will be blocked.
