Ok, I am the guy who bit on the dash conversion parts recently posted here on the forum. I have a 55 Club Sedan and I am gathering parts to install a 56 dash (you guys know I already have some 56 parts on this car ). At any rate, the following photos show the dilemma. After getting a good deal on the parts I purchased (a good z bar was thrown into the lot as well), to my dismay I discovered that the uprights (pillar pieces) do not match the wings and it seems as if the uprights are indeed for a hardtop but the wings for a sedan? Here are some photos to show what I mean... Ford's part numbers give no indication of which number fits which particular body style. Anyone want to swap what looks to be hardtop pieces I have for sedan pieces? Has anyone on the forum done this before? I am wondering if I will need a 56 upper run above the windshield...
Yes, I would ***ume that to be the case since 1955 sedans, both two door and four door have the same interior trim at the dash and windshield. The slight difference may be the stainless trim which at this time is not a concern.
