  3. Actually, the flat track races are on Friday night with Saturday being the rain date. But, it’s the best antique motorcycle racing in the country.

@Truckdoctor Andy and @woodbutcher , The joy for me posting these was to share the collection of bikes at the auction. I will post more tomorrow. Really happy that you have enjoyed them.

  14. Your picture of the ElectraGlide fender emblem reminded me of something. When I was younger, my wife and I rode a Shovelhead Low Rider everywhere. It wasn’t very comfortable, but darn it, we were cool. Now I ride an Evo Sportster(solo), and an Evo ElectraGlide. The Sportster is great fun for rides of a hundred miles or so, but you NEVER go wrong taking the ElectraGlide. Out of the ten or so bikes that I have had, my 1992 FLHS ElectraGlide is my favorite.

  16. I’ve heard of the Oley meet. It sounds like a great one. Thanks for the invite, if you get the chance to come to Davenport, let me know!

It has been in the 50s in Ky this weekend . I rolled the old Shovel out to light the wick , after about 20 good stiff kicks , it sputtered and coughed a couple of times and it was running . Man , how easy I forgot , that was a daily routine for years . I better call , a Buddy, anymore , I’m not up to it . I feel as if I have been in a train wreck .

Sky Six, thanks for the Mecum pics. A number of those bikes were from the Art Bulmann collection. Art was an acquaintance from here in the Chicagoland area. He had a restored barn housing this collection. We totaled up the sale prices, about 1.2 million. I thought the sidecar rigs went cheap, relatively. Art sold a few bikes before he passed to local guys. He wanted a lot more for the knuckle side car than it got at auction. I wanted that bike but couldn't come to terms. The one with the passenger car, not the utility car one.

Summer of '69 with my old "45". There are lawnmowers today that could outrun it but it was a blast anyhow. Just one of 17 over the years.

  22. I’m currently converting my 883 Harley into a 1200. I remarked to my Dad how ironic it is that my first set of forged pistons wound up in a Harley. When I was drag racing, I couldn’t afford forged pistons.

A couple of Roth drawings of motorcycles. I had posted them in the Friday art section but they were deleted . Hope they survive here. 20200122_135932.jpg 20200122_135919.jpg
