I don't have a pic to post, but I always ***umed it was just rumble seat cars that came with roll up rear windows.

from what i have left of the wood around my rear window, it does not look like it ever had a roll up window.

Rumble seat coupes all had roll-down back windows but they could be ordered for a Standard Coupe As well.

My 32 5-window was originally a trunk model with a roll down rear window but it has been changed to a rumble lid by the past owner,,,It's going to be changed back to a trunk in the future. HRP

Salesman's handbook...roll down window and curtain are standard, rumble was an option

yes i read that thread and saw that on ebay. but my question is: WERE THERE SOME 32 FORD 5W COUPES THAT DID NOT HAVE A ROLL UP WINDOW? because mine looks like there was never anything there but wood without any holes in it. i will try to post a pic soon. thanks guys.

maybe someone messed with it in the past and got rid of all of it.

Exactly how I know it to be.
My 32 5W aka standard coupe was not rumble
but had the roll down rear window and no cowl lamps.

All late 31 Model A rumble seat coupes had them also! Rumble seat only, but could be ordered on a trunk car.

According to the salesman's book, roll-down was STANDARD, rumble was OPTIONAL on 5 window. This does not mean that Ford was consistent at all times, but that is the correct setup. All should have had the rolldown. Removal was probably because of leaks and all that nasty junk hanging down fro the drip tray.

From looking at mine the regulator seemed unique to the back window. I think the model a one is different to but im not sure. 33/34 is different for sure.

look at the bottom edge of the window opening, the sides and top have a flange to atatch to the wood, the bottom doesnt have a flange so the window can go up and down, every 32 five window i have ever seen was that way.

im pretty sure they all had roll down back windows. but you never know.

I have a 32 Ford 5W with normal trunk. My back window only rolls down half way. Should it roll down fully? I didn’t see anyone cover this. Thanks.

I was told from previous owner that they only go down half way. I just wanted to confirm. Thank you!

@nochop can you post a pic of your mechanism please. I have 2 sets of regulators but don't know if they are 32. Also they are both missing the spring which I will need to source.

Both of mine have roll down rear windows and are trunk cars. One rolls down pretty much all the way and the other only 1/2 way.
