Thought Id share a few pics. Little Epoxy, little bondo - hours and hours of sanding...and it turned out OK. For as cracked and cruddy as it started....

Mine has cracked again... minor but annoying. If it was power steering it probably wouldn't have cracked again.

Mine has re-cracked as well, very small, but like you guys say, "It's annoying." Companies have been repopping tri-five chevy and 55-57 Tbird steering wheels for years. I don't know why I've never seen any company manufacture new wheels. The issue with the steering wheel restoration is not the repair you make, it's the rest of the wheel that is 55 years old or so and a break down of those materials.

    Just checking...what did you guys use? I used PC7 epoxy....reverse v-cuts, etc.

A good chance it's NEW cracks, since, as Dan mentioned, what you didn't have to repair is still 60 year old material prone to cracking.

    Great job on steering wheel!
It makes your car look like its going 80mph when its just sitting there. LOL

TBird Products has new wheels in several colors for $315

Thanks. Funny how you forget how GIGANTIC it is until you're all finished and put it back in the car after a few weeks!

Never have checked, but are TBird steering wheels the same "mounting distance" and all as the p***enger car? I know the diameter is different overall (as I recall, the TBird wheel is little smaller).

Anyone have a TBird steering wheel in their 55/56?
