I just got off the phone with the owner of a 1939 ford standard coupe. He is going to trade me straight across for my off topic 1970 buick wildcat convertible. I am freaking stoked right now. I'll post up some pictures when I get it home.

I drive the wildcat at least once a week I'm not worried. I need to take my kids for one last drive in the car. I've been wanting a coupe from the 30's for like 15 years or more. I'm reaking stoked.

The wildcat is an unrestored driving car. The coupe is fairly rust free, he pulled the front clip off but has all the parts. He had it running and driving last year. It has working brakes and new tires on it. The interior is a little ruff but all there. I'm super happy with the trade.

Great. Glad both parties are happy. While the front end is off, check into what it would take to convert it to a DeLuxe model..:)

Sounds like a good trade, ( not that I don't like wildcats) '39 ford coupes really represent the quintessential hot rod to me and are one of my favorite cars! looking forward to pics!

Yes1 The '39 Coupe is a great car. I'll Google the Buick, clueless what they look like. Bob

Sounds like a great trade. I'm probably one of the few that actually prefer the styling of the 1939 Deluxe grille and headlights over the 1940 although both are great looking cars.

The wildcat is a fine car, but it is worth less than 1/2 what the 39 is worth. I think the p/o got in over his head and wanted out. You could have some ahead of you but in the long run I think you come out WAY ahead.

Yeah he said he is getting rid of projects he has too many. He is having a hard time working on things. So to him a running driving convertible is a good thing. He was more interested in dealing with me because I wanted to leave it with the flathead in it.

You kicked *** on the deal. An entire '39 coupe with intact floors! Not busting on the Buick.
You could damn near scour it clean, re***emble and drive it.
