Hello, car looks real nice... What did you mount the A wishbone to? I'm building an A sedan and was figuring on splitting the bones even with my flatty since I wasn't gonna drop 500ish bucks on a duece K-member. What year rear end is that? Did you shorten the torque tube any?
this is still my favorite shot ..... such a long time ago jay!! you've come a long way man!!! now THATS hard core!! mike
I definitely had the East Coast style going on there...channelled and not chopped. LMAO! I built a wishbone mount out of 1x2 1/8 wall tubing. It has a 6" horizontal with a recess where I welded in the top half of the ball mount, the sides kick up to the frame and attach with bolts thru 1x1 L. Eventually I will add a couple diagonal kickers up to the trans crossmember to transfer any horizontal impact loads (ie potholes LOL). The rearend is '47 ford. I had the torque tube and driveshaft shortened like 21" and change. Thanks guys!!!
WOW! You have done a ton of work...looking good. You can see the light in the end of the tunnel...hope it's not a train.
Dude, that is just awsome!!! Great progress man. Looks like you are only wiring and brake lines away from catching up with me. I cant wait to get a ride in that coupe. hey man check out the pics of Good Guys in Des Moines, there is a black n white pic of my coupe. I'll catch up with ya in August!! later, jeff
How much did you cut the top?... I have parts from 18 different cars in my chopped 31 coupe....it goes thar way sometimes.... Looking good...
Thumbs up on the project!! Bare bones Hot Rodding, it what its all about Lookin good and cant wait to see it done
Hey Jay! That thing is really coming along.I glad to see the progress you`ve made in the short time since the HAMB-BQ. I found a few parts and pieces left over from my old coupe, I`ll bring to the diggs in joplin. Tom T.
Like most things with this project- I seem to do things b***ackwards. I got the doors from Slazzen, they were already chopped 4" back-in-the-day. So I chopped the quarterpanels the same. I have a nice amount of room inside, at 6-2 250, sitting inside is like wearing a big coat, nice and cozy, but not alot of room for someone else... The decklid will be trimmed so it sits inside the opening, and I think it needs some louvers and some striping eventually. Thanks guys. Talk about motivation!
Great work. If your a hack then I am a mule. You are pluggin along just fine. Keeps the rest of us motivated. Keep shooting pictures too!
Jay, Looking good. I love the deck lid. You did a great job on it. Like the others say don't paint it. You have come a long way since seeing it last. Keep up the great work man. and keep us posted. Jerry
Good God, that is unbelievable...talk about building a silk purse out of a sow's ear! I'd have given up on that a long time ago. Looks great!
