Does anyone have some pics of a chopped sedan or business coupe? Once they're chopped, I can't really tell which is which, and I'm curious to know how they look different from one another after going under the knife. Any thoughts? pics? opinions? thanks!
the quater windows look squashed in my opinion on a buisness coupe before and after they're chopped...
I thought to do the proper chop on a business coupe your supposed to find a donor four door sedan top and that is what makes a correct chop. It's in the Tex Smith "how to chop tops book"
dude..agreed yours doesn't...most do though I feel..whether its the way its angled, or something else..guess, chop amount also plays a role....looks good man
Most look funny, I agree. I was just fortunate enought to get a chp that came out great in my opinion...
geeman you might be the exception..your car looks bad *** ,but most coupes look like **** chopped..over done most of the time..just my 2 cents
Nice job, looks like it should have been designed that way to begin with, great style improvement. chuck
I definetly think it takes more skill, or practice or whatever you want to call it to do a business coupe right compared to a sedan. But when a business coupe is done right it looks killer IMO. Ofcourse Kopperhed is the best example of coupe done right, but they got rid of the quarter window all together giving the car a totally different look. A precursor to the T-Bird kinda style.
Coupes have a shorter roof line than sedans. There is maybe a six inch difference between the rear window and the trunk. Look at this site. http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_car_photos/customcars_i_like/ford_custom_cars/49-51_ford_custom_cars/

WOW, both of those cars are B-E-A-U-TIFUL !! I have a '49 business coupe that I'm building for my wife right now. It's just going to be a mild custom cruiser, but I've also got a '50 business coupe that will be DADDY'S car. I'm going to chop/hardtop the roof on it, and I was actually going to base my chop on the maroon car posted above. That car is so ****ing right on !! -Aaron
