I just got a 276 will over come any obstacles to build it . Yes expensive. But so cool when done Sent from my SM-A505U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I learned to drive in a '53 four door DeSoto with a single 2bbl small Hemi and fluid drive. Bigger than a flathead and 260 Ford, a tad smaller than a 289. In a light, driver street car, why not? The reason the folks got it was my mom wasn't all the adept with a clutch while holding the brake while stopped on a hilltop red lights in and around the Oakland area where we lived at the time. In the DeSoto, she only needed to clutch it once after the first start to get it rolling or for reverse. The rest of the time the fluid drive works just like a contemporary automatic. It was perfect for her. I liked it later in high school because I could drive it either manual or semi-automatic. And it had a cool grille!
What the hell! I'll post to a 10 year old thread too. I had a good runnin' 270 Dodge with a 4BBL in an 1800 lb "T" bucket in the mid '60's. It had plenty of power. What's a 276 DeSoto worth these days?
