1952-59 Ford How much gap should I have on front a arm bump stop??

    54 Customline with all new stock front end. Installed the Aerostar springs a while ago and am now looking at shocks . Had to cut off 1/2 of the rubber bump stop to get maybe 2 1/4 inch gap. What do u guys think. The pic looks like a lot more gap than there is. This is just going to be a daily driver. I like the stance, so was hoping i didnt have to put a doughnut above the spring..     That's about the same amount of travel that I have. mine rides fine just watch out for deep pot holes.

    looks ok to me. watch out for bumps. It'll bang pretty hard on big ones.

    OK thanks guys...I guess its a go. Will order the shocks now.

    I left my 56 alone after installing Aerostar springs, shocks too. So far I have not had any problems with any of it. I am pretty cautious on road dips I see as the suspension is 64 years old even new parts.
